CHAPTER 8 - BOOKS AND OTHER SOURCES ABOUT BOONE'S TRIAL

It is extremely difficult to find any material about Boone's court martial. What few materials were written are hard-to-get and frequently out-of-print.

  • Eckert, Allan W. - The Court-Martial of Daniel Boone. New York: Bantam, 1973. Account of the trial with fictional dialogue.
  • Young, Chester Raymond (editor)- Westward into Kentucky: The Narrative of Daniel Trabue. Lexington: University Press of Kentucky, 1981.
  • Faragher, John Mack - Daniel Boone. New York: Henry Holt, 1992. This book is still in print and is considered the definitive modern biography. It does discuss the court martial.
  • Aron, Stephen - How the West was Lost: The Transformation of Kentucky from Daniel Boone to Henry Clay. Baltimore: Johns Hopkins, 1996.
  • Documents at the Cincinnati Historical Society.
